At an event in New York City today, HTC took the wraps off their latest Android based smartphone; the HTC Rezound. The device loves to groove along with you, and it"s officially a "Beats Audio" device; even better, it"ll be getting Ice Cream Sandwich soon.
Android Central were at the launch event, and report that the device rocks a 1.5Ghz dual-core Qualcomm MSM 8660 processor (unlike it"s single cored Windows Phone counterparts), 1GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage and a MicroSD slot (also ships with a 16GB MicroSD card).
The device is the first in the HTC portfolio to feature a 720p screen, coming in at 4.3", just a few weeks behind the Samsung announcement. It"ll also feature Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) on the inside for the time being.
Additionally, the Rezound joins the high-megapixel craze among the latest smartphones, with an 8 Megapixel sensor, f2.2 lens and 1080p video recording (including slow motion, apparently). It"ll be interesting to see how this stacks up against it"s biggest critics, the iPhone 4S and the Galaxy Nexus.
Finally, the device will come with HTC"s Sense UI by default, and Beats Audio, which according to HTC will mean "you should have the best audio experience in your mobile experience."
HTC says it"s committed to bringing Ice Cream Sandwich to the device "as soon as possible," which translates to early 2012. The device will be available on November 14, landing at Best Buy for just $299 with a two year contract.
For those already convinced that the Rezound is love at first sight, pre-order and more information about the device is here. Press release embedded below, for those who love reading them.
