HTC confirms some of its devices that will receive Android 8.0 Oreo

Yesterday, Google confirmed that the next version of Android, 8.0, will be called Oreo. Following the announcement, it released final builds for its Nexus and Pixel devices. Naturally, this leaves many users asking if their device will be updated, and it seems that HTC is one of the first with some answers.

According to @HTCUSA on Twitter, the U11, U Ultra, and last year"s 10 will receive Oreo. If your device isn"t on the list, however, HTC says that additional devices will be announced soon, so don"t worry just yet.

We"re excited to bring Android Oreo to HTC U11, HTC U Ultra, and HTC 10 owners worldwide! Details & additional devices to be announced soon.

The list isn"t surprising though. When Nougat was released last year, HTC announced that it would offer it to its current flagship at the time, the 10, along with the previous one, the One M9. Judging by that pattern, it doesn"t seem likely that the M9 will receive another upgrade this year, especially since the handset is well over two years old now.
