Few people would argue that the HTC One M9 is a bad device - on paper at least, it looks as good as plenty of other high-end handsets. But the One M9 hasn"t exactly been a sales hit since its launch earlier this year, and many believe this is down to the fact that the device doesn"t really feel like a significant improvement over its predecessor.
HTC is hoping that it can buy the love of potential customers by adding a bit of extra value to the One M9 package. The phone already comes with free "UH OH" protection - you"ll get a replacement handset free if you damage yours - but now HTC is also offering $100 of Google Play credit with the device.
The offer is available in the US, and works like this:
- Buy a HTC One M9 before November 30, 2015
- Claim your $100 Google Play credit by December 31, 2015
- Use up the full $100 credit anytime before December 31, 2016
In addition to apps, the Google Play credit can be redeemed against movies, music and more. But with increasingly intense competition from new rival flagships, it remains to be seen if this latest offer gives One M9 sales the boost they need.
