As September gets closer and closer, we"re seeing more information coming out surrounding the Windows Phone 7 "Mango" launch and it"s associated hardware. HTC is rumored to be launching new Windows Phone devices at an event in London next week.
It appears PocketNow has gotten their hands on a press shot of a new device, the HTC Omega. The device sports silver/white, a first for Windows Phone 7, where previously the devices have been various shades of grey. The specifications are rumored to be a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255, 512MB of RAM, front facing camera, 3.8" SLCD display and 8MP camera. PocketNow points out that HTC is expected to announce a second Windows Phone 7.5 device next week, codenamed "Eternity."
No date or other details are available, but it"ll likely go on sale sometime during the month of September rocking Mango onboard and making many Windows Phone enthusiasts that are just dying for a white iPhone competitor very happy.
Mango is the major update to Microsoft"s Windows Phone 7 platform, which brings many new features such as multitasking, IE9 support, deep social networking, integrated chat and more. The RTM software is expected to be available to retail devices in the next few weeks and new Mango hardware is releasing around the world slowly, with Fujistu releasing the first handset.
