It was just last month that HTC unveiled its latest flagship, the HTC One (M8). The successor to one of last year’s sleekest mobile handsets returned with a more streamlined design and wealth of new features. Amongst the list of new features, there were also a lot of familiar features that were carried over from the previous model. One of the most important features were the dual speaker that created such a unique and enriching audio experience that it literally became the new gold standard for audio on a mobile device.

Early today, evleaks released an interesting bit of information stating that Sprint would release a Harman/Kardon edition of the HTC One. Furthermore, an XDA forum member has clarified that all of Sprint’s HTC One’s currently posses this hardware, but it has not been made public until the legal portion of the agreement is completed. Sprint will begin marketing the exclusive HTC One Harman/Kardon edition once the deal is solidified.
HTC’s previous partnership with Beats Audio was more of a gimmick than an actual technological improvement in creating better sound for HTC’s products. While HTC"s dual speaker sounds great, it will be interesting to see how HTC will implement and take advantage of a reputable company like Harman/Kardon. Hopefully, this go-around they will properly utilize them rather than resorting to the same tired gimmicks.
