HTC One M9 announced, available mid-March

After months of leaks and speculation, the HTC One M9 has finally been outed by the company at the Mobile World Congress 2015.

There was plenty of speculation around HTC"s latest flagship and the rumours have mostly turned out true. The One M9, evolves the One M7 and M8 designs further with a dual-tone finish and smoother curves but nothing too different from the original.

The front of the smartphone features two speakers, a 4 UltraPixel selfie camera and an array of sensors. The BoomSound speakers offer 5.1 channel sound, which HTC developed with the help of industry leaders Dolby and Harmon/Kardon. HTC has gone with the same screen configuration as the previous flagship which means it is a 5-inch 1080p Super LCD3 screen.

The rear side of the One M9 features a single 20 megapixel camera with an improved BSI sensor and a dual LED flash, ditching the UltraPixel duo-camera setup on the M8. The camera supports 4K video recording and support for RAW image captures.

Under the hood, the One M9 is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor with four Cortex-A57 cores at 2.0GHz and four Cortex-A53 running at 1.5GHz. The RAM powering the device is revealed to be 3GB and the storage available is 32GB with the option to add more using the MicroSD card slot. All of these specs are kept ticking with a 2800 mAh battery.

HTC One M9 will run on Android Lollipop 5.0 with the company"s Sense 7 software and bundled apps. The exact Android version hasn"t been revealed but the latest HTC updates have been built upon Android 5.0.2, which might be the version they have gone with.

Finally, the availability of the device is not very far and the company is expected to put the device on sale in Asia, India and Europe in mid-March but the pricing still remains a mystery.
