HTC One M9 specs supposedly leaked online

Here’s some news that might brighten up your Monday, especially if you’re a HTC fan. The company’s next flagship’s specs have supposedly leaked online. The upcoming device, likely called the M9 looks set to be a top of the line contender for next year’s smartphone generation.

HTC’s One line, starting with the M7 and going through last year’s M8, has consistently been rated as having some of the best smartphones on the market, so obviously lots of folks might be excited to learn what the company is planning next.

According to this rumor, which started circulating on Chinese social media, next year’s M9 model will come packed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor and 3 GB of RAM. The handset will supposedly feature a 5.5-inch display with QHD resolution (2560 x 1440 px) and the now signature front-facing stereo speakers will make also make an appearance.

HTC is also rumored to dump its unsuccessful “Ultra-pixel” approach to cameras, in favor of a tried and tested 16-megapixel shooter with optical image stabilization. Finally, the phone will be powered by a 3,500 mAh battery and a “Prime” version of the device may be in the works as well, though no further info was provided on that handset.

We suggest you take this rumor for what it is, with a generous amount of salt, not because it’s implausible but rather because what’s being described is so generic that any industry-watcher could have predicted it.
