Despite the release of the HTC One to positive critical acclaim from Neowin and others, this year hasn"t been great for the company. The Taiwanese firm are in dire need of a reboot even though they are (or were) a major player in the smartphone market. Bigger and far more invested companies like Samsung and Nokia, however, have taken most of its market share.
HTC"s rumoured phablet device, which has been a possibility for some time, may have been leaked in blueprints released by Mobileaks. Just last month the company cancelled its plans for a 12-inch Windows RT tablet, however if these images turn out to be legitimate, it"s clear the company are still interested in making a device larger than their smartphones. The device would fall in direct competition with Samsung"s Galaxy Note, the first of the "phablets".
Mobileaks notes the new information:
Unfortunately it is not a real picture, but here you see the first sketches of the HTC One Max. The unannounced phablet will get, according to the sketch, a 5.9 inch screen with a minimal bezel and two forward-facing speakers, that HTC calls Boom Sound.
According to our tipster these are the blueprints of the HTC T6 and since last Wednesday it was announced that the name is probably the "One Max".
Besides the screen size, the sketches reveal that the mega variant of the HTC One will be 9.4mm thick and 140.4mm long.
Previously referred to under the codename HTC T6, the device will reportedly be known as the "HTC One Max". It"s said to feature a 5.9-inch full HD display and pack a Snapdragon 800 processor clocking in at 2.3GHz. A 3300mAh battery will allegedly power the device, and "Boom Sound" speakers from the firm"s flagship handset will grace the front of the device. Android 5.0 "Key Lime Pie" is said to run on the One Max too, however we"ve recently found out the next iteration of Google"s mobile OS to look out for is 4.3 Jelly Bean.
