HTC recently unveiled and launched its latest handset, the One A9. But, as many of the company’s fans have decried, this isn’t exactly a flagship phone. Now the company is focusing on yet another device, the One X9, seen here for the first time ‘out in the wild’.
The HTC One X9 is expected to be a new handset with a metal frame and exterior meta housing. Though it’s long been rumored, and previously been leaked in press renders, a person from China has finally gotten hands-on time with the device and leaked these images showing the phone in the real world.
The images seem to confirm many of the previous rumors, including the polished metal finish and the capacitive buttons. Unfortunately for tech enthusiasts, this is still not a flagship phone. According to the recent rumors, the HTC One X9 has the following specs:
- 5.5-inch 1080p screen
- MediaTek MT6795 SoC 2.2GHz octa-core
- 2 or 3 GB RAM
- 13 MP camera with OIS
- 16 GB Storage
- 3,000 mAh battery
Besides these, the images above, which seem to be legitimate, show there’s no fingerprint scanner and that the device still features the standard micro-USB port, instead of the newer type-C model found on today’s flagships.
Still, the HTX One X9 might find its own niche for success given its specs and design, if the company nails the pricing and distribution. But there’s no info on that front just yet, so you’ll need to check back in the near future.
