Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC has not launched many smartphones of late. The last device unveiled by the company was the HTC Desire 21 Pro 5G in Taiwan last month, but no global version was announced. In the West, the latest releases were the Desire 20 Pro and the U20 5G in June 2020.
Today HTC made a comeback with the unveiling of the latest model in the Wildfire family of smartphones. The HTC Wildfire E3 was revealed for the Russian market. As of right now, it is unclear whether the device will make its way to other parts of the world.
Moving on to the device specifications, the HTC Wilfire E3 boasts a huge 6.5-inch HD+ IPS display with a teardrop notch to house the front camera. Powered by the MediaTek Helio P22 chipset, it has a 4000mAh battery, 4GB RAM, 64GB and 128GB storage options, a rear-mounted fingerprint reader and dual SIM compatibility. The smartphone runs Android 10 out of the box.
As for the camera setup, the HTC device has a 13MP f/2.0 front camera with 720p video recording. As for the main cameras, these involve a quad-camera situation on the back consisting of a 13MP f/2.0 AF primary lens, an 8MP f/2.2 FF ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP f/2.4 FF macro lens and a 2MP f/2.4 FF depth sensor. The main camera supports full HD 1080p video recording.
In terms of looks and internals, the Wildfire E3 brings nothing new to the table. If anything, the specs may sound a bit backdated taking recent launches into account.
While the purchase link appears to be live on the Russian website, there is no price or exact launch date given. It is likely that more details concerning the Wildfire E3 will be revealed in the near future.
