Over the past month or so, there have been numerous reports about the upcoming HTC U codenamed the "Ocean". While we have seen glimpses of it in leaked promotional videos, we are now getting clear shots of the handset, which can be seen to the right. The handset looks very similar to its larger sibling, the U Ultra, with its all glass exterior.
What makes this handset so interesting is the use of touch sensitive bezels that are currently being dubbed "Edge Sensors". Using the Edge Sensors, users will be able to activate and scroll through applications utilizing the frame of the phone. If that wasn"t impressive enough, the smartphone will also boast an array of microphones that will allow the user to capture richer audio. The HTC U will also attempt to make strides with its camera by offering an HDR+ mode that will allow users to view live preview images with HDR applied. Unlike its current U Ultra handset that offers older internals like the Snapdragon 821 processor, the U will reportedly offer the latest from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 835. Naturally, we will have to wait until HTC officially reveals the device, which is expected sometime this year.
