HTC has confirmed that Sprint HTC U11 owners will begin received Android 8.0 Oreo on Monday. The news comes several months after owners of the unlocked version of the device received the update. While the update will begin rolling out on Monday, it could actually take a couple of days before everyone is notified.
Sprint HTC u11 owners! Appreciate your patience, we have received technical approval from the carrier. Updates to Oreo OS will start on Monday! Enjoy!

If you’ve got the Sprint variant of the HTC U11 you’ll be able to manually check for the update, from Monday, by navigating to Settings > About > Software updates > Check now. Of course, you could also wait for the notification of the upgrade to pop up.
In November, when the unlocked U11 received the Oreo update, we stated that the HTC 10 would be getting the update in the coming weeks. In the thread announcing Oreo for the Sprint HTC U11, Mo Versi, VP of Product Management at HTC, said that the unlocked U.S. HTC 10 has received Oreo since November.
There’s no news yet on when Oreo will be available on the HTC U11 in other countries around the world, or if it will receive the update at all.
