HTC announced today that its Desire 530 phone is coming to the United States. The phone was originally announced for international markets at Mobile World Congress in February, and was made available in March.
According to the press release, the device will be powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. Earlier reports of the international device were of a Snapdragon 210; however, if the Desire 530 is anything like the Desire 626, specs may very well vary by region.
Other details about the device include a 5" 720p display, an 8MP rear camera, and a 5MP front camera. It will also have HTC"s trademark BoomSound front-facing speakers.
The Desire 530 will come in three different colors: Blue Lagoon, Sprinkle White or Stratus White; however, the unlocked model - which will be sold on HTC.com - will only be available in Sprinkle White. It will also be available from T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless, which will announce colors and models separately.
