Huami is a company you’ve probably never heard of, but over the past year, it has introduced a variety of different fitness devices like the Amazfit Pace. The firm is a sub-brand of Xiaomi and while things have been quiet the past several months, it has now revealed two new products, the Amazfit Sports Smartwatch 2 and Amazfit Watch 2S.
The Sports Smartwatch 2 features a ceramic casing, a 1.34-inch touchscreen display protected by tempered glass, GPS, heart rate sensor, and 4GB of storage. It can last up to 35 hours on a single charge when in GPS mode. Those that love to swim will be happy to know that the Sports Smartwatch 2 can track swimming, offering details like stroke efficiency, style, and also record lap times. As you can guess from the name, the watch will cater more towards the fitness-oriented and will also have rubber straps.
The Amazfit Watch 2S will offer the same design of the Sports Smartwatch 2, but will feature a sapphire glass to protect the screen and will not offer GPS or a heart rate monitor. This model will be aimed at those looking for something that offers a bit more style.
Both watches will be available in China and will be priced at ¥999 or around $150 USD for the Sports model, while the Watch 2S will cost ¥1,499 which is around $226 USD. Currently, it has not been announced whether the firm will release this to a broader market, but if previous devices are any indication, we could see these made available in the United States sometime in the future.
