Huawei P40 Pro and P40 specs and renders leak, will feature up to 50x zoom

Later this week, Huawei will be holding an online-only launch event of its 2020 flagship smartphone lineup, the P40. Spoiling Huawei"s party, renders of the P40 Pro and the P40 have leaked online along with their specs.

The Huawei P40 5G will feature a 6.1-inch dual punch-hole display with a 32MP selfie camera, 3800mAh battery, and the Kirin 990 5G chipset. It will sport a triple-camera setup at the rear which will include a 50MP primary camera along with a 16MP and 8MP Leica Ultra Vision sensors. The setup will offer 30x digital zoom and make use of Huawei"s XD Fusion Engine for Pictures.

As for the Huawei P40 Pro, the leaked specs point to the device coming with a 6.58-inch dual punch-hole display, a bigger 4200mAh battery with 40W wired and 27W or 40W wireless charging, 32MP front camera with depth sensor, and Leica"s Ultra Vision Quad Camera comprising of 50MP + 40MP + 12MP + ToF and offering 50x digital zoom. The renders make it clear that the P40 Pro and the P40 will have the same design language, though the P40 Pro will have a display that"s curved from all its edges, including the top and bottom. Both devices will also feature an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Like all other Huawei devices released over the last few months, the P40 and P40 Pro will also launch without access to Google apps and services as the company has been put on an Entity List by the U.S. government. The devices will likely launch with Huawei"s Mobile Services and AppGallery which the company has been investing billions of dollars in to build as a viable alternative to the Play Store.
