Huawei rumored to reveal Windows Phone 8 device Sept. 25th

In June, during Microsoft"s Windows Phone 8 developer event, the company announced that the launch hardware partners would include previous Windows Phone companies Nokia, Samsung and HTC. A new name to the Windows Phone family also was on the list, the Chinese-based Huawei.

Now, a new rumor claims that Huawei is about ready to reveal its Windows Phone 8 product. The site Winp.cn reports, via unnamed sources, that the company could announce some details on the device on September 25th, with the actual launch set to happen later this fall.

The story also claims that the name of the device will be the Ascend W1 and that it will have a price of 2000 Yuan, or about $300. If true, its likely that the Ascend W1 will be a smartphone that won"t have a lot of high end hardware inside.

Samsung revealed its Windows Phone 8 device, the ATIV S, in late August, and of course Nokia revealed its Lumia 920 and 820 smartphones earlier this month. HTC  is supposed to hold a press event later this week in New York City, where the company could reveal one or more Windows Phone 8 devices.
