Along with the P30 and P30 Pro, Huawei also unveiled today its FreeLace Bluetooth earphones, which promise a total playback time of 18 hours on a single charge. The earphones are connected by a nickel-titanium alloy cord covered by liquid silicon.
The FreeLace is IPX5 certified, meaning you won"t have to worry about water splash or soaking the earphones in sweat while working out in the gym. It also has a USB Type-C plug onboard featuring Huawei"s HiPair technology, which will allow the earphones to pair with a mobile device once plugged into it. You can also charge the FreeLace using your smartphone through the cord.
In terms of audio quality, Huawei says the earphones include a 9.2mm dynamic driver unit for a wider sound field, an ultra-thin TPU diaphragm for rich bass, and titanium plating that"s responsible for its treble. Attached to the back of both earpieces are magnetic sensors that, when attached to each other, will determine that the earphones are not in use. Likewise, the FreeLace will automatically end the connection to save power.
Additionally, the earphones feature a dual-channel wind noise reduction and Bluetooth noise canceling algorithm. The FreeLace comes in Graphite black, Amber Sunrise, Emerald Green, and Moonlight Silver color variants. Huawei is yet to disclose the price, however.
Update: The FreeLace will be priced at €99. However, its availability date is yet to be disclosed.
