Huawei's MateBook 2-in-1 is now available for purchase in the US [Update]

If you"re in the United States, you can now purchase the Huawei MateBook. Starting at $699, you can grab it from Microsoft Stores, Microsoft.com, Amazon.com, and Newegg.com.

Huawei confirmed at its launch event that all MateBooks sold in the US will be Signature PCs, meaning that there will be minimal third-party software pre-installed on it. Because of this, you can rest easy in ordering one from Amazon or Newegg, which might typically have offered non-Signature options.

Interestingly, none of the sites mentioned above seem to be selling either of the Core m7 models, or any accessories aside from the Portfolio Keyboard. Here"s the full pricing list, with items not listed in bold.

You can check out our review of the Core m3 model right here. Ultimately, we thought it was a great device (particularly a wonderful tablet), but with a couple of conditions. First, you"ll need to be comfortable with a keyboard without space between the keys. Also, you"ll want to invest in the more expensive model with 8GB RAM.

We"ve reached out to Huawei to find out why the above devices aren"t listed for purchase. We"ll update this article when we hear back.

Update: The MatePen and MateDock are now available from the above retailers; however, Huawei wasn"t able to confirm that a Core m7 model is coming.
