IBM on Monday announced its cloud-based portfolio of social networking and collaboration services designed for business called LotusLive. Following the trend of Google, Zoho, Jive, Microsoft, Socialtext, Central Desktop and others, IBM now enters the cloud service market. LotusLive is the one-stop place to find Lotus" cloud services which includes Email, Collaboration and Web Conferencing.
LotusLive is designed to help companies simplify and improve daily business interactions with customers, partners and colleagues. LotusLive"s online services are tailored to suit businesses of all sizes without requiring a heavy investment in the IT infrastructure.
LotusLive is built using open Web-based standards and an open business model allowing it to easily integrate with third party applications. LotusLive"s Click to Cloud feature will help customers add their existing applications to the cloud.
LotusLive cloud currently offers the following services:
- LotusLive Engage - Web meeting service.
- LotusLive Connections - File sharing, activity management, instant messaging, and networking capabilities.
- LotusLive Meetings - Online meetings with integrated Web, voice and video conferencing (IBM Lotus Sametime Unyte Meeting).
- LotusLive Events - Online event management service (IBM Lotus Sametime Unyte Events).
- LotusLive Notes - Online email solution.
- LotusLive iNotes - Web-based messaging service for exchanging e-mail and files.
IBM also announced partnerships with Skype, LinkedIn and Salesforce. LotusLive users will be able to search LinkedIn"s public professional network and instantly collaborate with them using LotusLive services. Businesses partnered with Salesforce will be able to simplify and improve customer interactions and management by integrating LotusLive into CRM solutions. LotusLive customers will be able to call Skype contacts from within their LotusLive contacts.
