Samsung is set to unveil its upcoming Galaxy S series flagships on January 14. The firm is expected to announce a trio of devices, details of which have leaked heavily in the past few months. One of the rumors is that the top-of-the-line model, the Galaxy S21 Ultra, will bring support for the S Pen – something that the company recently even teased. However, unlike the Note line, the stylus is expected to be sold as a separate accessory.
Today, supposed images of an S21 Ultra case with a stylus housing and the optional S Pen itself said to be offered as an accessory, have leaked. The images suggest that the South Korean firm might be planning to offer a wide case with an S Pen housing right next to the device’s frame as an optional accessory. The report adds that users will also be able to purchase the stylus separately for €40 (approximately $49) in place of the bundle. The case also seems to offer a transparent window for the always-on display, akin to the company’s clear covers.
As for the S Pen itself, it looks similar to the model sold with the Galaxy Tab S7+. The report states that the stylus will offer features like gesture control – thanks to the built-in accelerometer – and a pressure-sensitive tip. Not much else in the way of details – including the price of the bundle or any possible color options are currently known.
Earlier reports hinted at the possible discontinuation of the Note line, which the company recently denied. It will be interesting to see how the company markets the accessories and what other features it brings to its S series flagships.
