Instagram has quietly introduced a new capability that allows users to add lyrics when they share songs to their Stories using the music sticker. This feature depends, however, on the availability of the lyrics for a specific song chosen by the user.
In addition, there"s an option to customize how the lyrics will look in Stories by selecting different fonts and designs. Plus, users can pick a certain section of the song to share and play. The lyrics corresponding to that chosen part of the song will then appear on Stories when viewed by friends. Also, other Instagram users can listen to more parts of the song or find out more details about the artist by tapping the lyrics.
The feature, however, is available only in territories where users can access Facebook"s music library, as per Billboard. It"s part of Facebook"s broader effort to offer music content across its services. In June of last year, the company launched an option for users to add a licensed soundtrack to their Stories post through overlay stickers. Then late last year, Instagram struck a partnership with Shazam to expand the users" options for licensed music that they want to share on Stories.
