Instagram adds the ability to share your Stories to a smaller group of friends

Instagram Stories is one of the great features of the Facebook-owned photo and video sharing app, letting you share moments with all of your friends (followers). That"s why it"s not at all surprising to know that its user base has ballooned over the past year.

But there are specific Stories that you may want to be visible only to a limited group of people, though Instagram has not had that capability, until now. Instagram announced today that you now have the option to share Stories with a smaller set of your friends in addition to all of your followers. You can do so by creating "a close friends list" on Stories, which will be visible only to you. Your contacts won"t have the ability to request to be added to that list as well.

To get started with the new feature, simply head over to your profile and select “Close Friends List” found on the side menu. You will also know if your friends have added you to their list once you see a green badge when viewing their stories.

The new feature adds a level of flexibility to how you share personal moments with friends of your own choosing. Instagram says it is available worldwide from today for both the Android and iOS versions of the app.
