Intel will showcase its next-generation Penryn 45nm processor at the upcoming Computex 2007 (June 5-9) trade show, while AMD will also demonstrate its native Quad-Core Opteron processors (Barcelona), during the show, according to sources.
The two companies will only show the products at their own booths, added the sources.
Although AMD has already delayed the launch of its Barcelona processor to June from May, the company stated the product will still hit the market in 2007. AMD plans to launch native quad-core processor for desktop use in the third quarter, said the sources.
The company aims to ship one million native quad-core processors for server and desktop use in 2007, noted the sources.
