This is the third part of our Intel Evo vs Apple Silicon series, where we"re taking a look at what each side can do better than the other. The MacBook Pro 13, Razer Book 13, Razer Core X, Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, Samsung T7 Touch SSD, and CalDigit Thunderbolt 3 dock were provided by Intel. All opinions expressed are a result of our own testing and experience.
I"ll admit, these first three videos were all originally meant to be one video, but there"s just too much to show and to talk about. We"re on part three of the series, but we"re still in the introduction phase of the project, we"re were setting up the accessories. But right now, I"m typing this on the Razer Book 13 that"s hooked up to the Razer Core X GPU enclosure on a single port, connecting it to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, which in itself is connected to two 4K monitors. The other Thunderbolt 4 port is connected to the CalDigit Thunderbolt dock.
In the video below, we take a look at the Razer Core X, and just how easy it is to set up. It was as simple as sliding out the drawer, popping in the graphics card, connecting the power cables, sliding the drawer back in, and conecting the Core X to the Razer Book 13 by means of a USB Type-C cable.
You"ll also see the Samsung T7 Touch SSD. What makes this little 2TB SSD special is that it has a fingerprint sensor on it to keep your data secure. As Intel pointed out to me, that fingerprint sensor won"t work with a Mac.
Next in this series, you"ll see more written content. We"re going to look at hardware compatibility, app compatibility, and of course performance. All of that will be followed by full reviews of the MacBook Pro and the Razer Book 13.
