In January this year, Intel launched its Xe-based discrete desktop graphics (codenamed DG1) which is the first such product in the company"s history. While this certainly excited a lot of people it was sadly only available to OEMs and system integrators which means DIY PC builders couldn"t avail of them.
Today, we have caught sight of a duo of such OEM-based PCs, the first of their kind, from popular system builder CyberPowerPC. These feature Intel"s Iris Xe discrete desktop graphics as the primary display driver. Both the computers have nearly identical specifications except for the processors. While one of them features a Rocket Lake-S Core i5-11400F, the other one packs a Comet Lake Core i3-10105F. You can find the details of these two CPUs here. The other key hardware specifications are:
- B460 chipset motherboard,
- 3000MHz 8GB DDR4 memory,
- 500GB NVMe SSD, and
- Intel Iris Xe discrete desktop graphics 4GB.
Below we have the images of the two computers. The left one is the i5 PC that"s selling on BestBuy for $749.99, while the i3 computer, on the right, is selling on the Amazon US for $659.99.
While the system on BestBuy appears to be not in stock right now, you can purchase the i3-10105F as it seems to be available at the moment.
The graphics performance of the DG1 is expected to be somewhere around the Radeon Polaris-based RX 550. It does however have the ability to decode AV1 video files, something that the Polaris card lacks.
