IO Interactive details Hitman's final content drop for Season One

IO Interactive-developed Hitman has been receiving monthly updates since the game"s launch back in 2016, even releasing updates while the studio was being put up for sale by Square Enix. As of last month, IO Interactive is now an independent studio, with the ownership of the Hitman IP to boot.

Today marks the arrival of the first content drop since the studio went solo, with the Escalation Contract: The Hamartia Compulsion. This contract enters as the twelfth one in Sapienza, with the developer asking players to expect a five stage contract with "three different targets, a sticky pistol complication and a few other surprises."

Also included are a host of Featured Contracts made by community members, 15 in total.

Meanwhile, the game"s final Elusive Target is set to appear later this month in the Marrakesh bonus mission, "A House Built on Sand". There will also be opportunities to grab some new suits, such as by earning a "Silent Assassin" rating for the aforementioned target. The in-game challenges will show exactly how many suits players can unlock after beating the mission.

A game update is also planned for later this month, however, the developer didn"t go into detail on what will it include, but intends to reveal the release notes closer to launch.

While IO Interactive didn’t confirm another season of Hitman content, with the conclusion of updates for the first season, if another season is in fact in development, its unveiling may not be that far off.
