Earlier today, Apple held its annual iPhone launch event, where it announced the Apple Watch Series 2, and of course, the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. As the firm tends to do after the event, it released the GM seeds for everything that was in beta, which includes iOS 10, macOS 10.12 Sierra, watchOS 3, and tvOS 10.
According to Apple Developer, there actually is no iOS 10 GM seed; instead, the company went straight for iOS 10.0.1. Nevertheless, Apple is calling iOS 10 it"s biggest update to iOS ever. Indeed, there is quite a bit that"s new. You"ll find overhauled apps for Music, Maps, News, and more. Messages now allows for third-party extensions, and there"s an all-new lock screen experience.
macOS 10.12 Sierra"s main new feature is that Apple has finally brought Siri to the desktop. You"ll also find that you can now unlock your Mac with your Apple Watch, assuming that you have two-factor authentication turned on for your Apple account.
watchOS 3 is also a significant update. Along with new apps such as Breathe and SOS, you"ll find a Dock and a Control Center. This will help apps launch faster, and should work great on the new Apple Watch Series 2.
tvOS 10 is probably the smallest of the major updates. It includes a new dark theme, expanded Siri search, and more.
Finally, the company has also released a GM seed for Xcode 8, which includes all of the new APIs in the new OS versions, as well as Swift 3. Those on the Public Beta don"t seem to be getting the GM seeds just yet, but they should get it pretty soon.
