Apple started rolling out iOS 14.3 earlier this week, alongside its other mid-stream feature updates. As usual, that means that there"s already a new update on the way. Those updates are iOS 14.4, iPadOS 14.4, watchOS 7.3, and tvOS 14.4, and the first developer betas are out today.
Somewhat unsurprisingly, there isn"t anything notable that"s new, and Apple"s own changelog says that iOS 14.4 includes "bug fixes and improvements". Throughout the course of the beta, there are likely to be some minor new features.
The reason that it"s unsurprising is because this week"s update, while having a minor update version number, was actually pretty significant. Apple always announces its major updates in June, but then at some point in between, there"s a minor update that packs in a few more features, and this year, those updates are iOS 14.3, iPadOS 14.3, watchOS 7.2, and tvOS 14.3.
While there"s a bunch in those updates, the key new features are Fitness+ support, AirPods Max support, and support for the new ProRAW camera format on iPhone 12 Pro devices. As for iOS 14.4, we"ll have to keep track of any new features moving forward.
