While the Apple Store is still having maintenance performed on its online store, service carriers in the United States have begun their own pre-order processes.
Although all four of the major national carriers should have pre-orders available, it currently looks like AT&T and Verizon Wireless are the only ones that are currently offering it. Sprint and T-Mobile have yet to allow customers the chance to pre-order as of 1:30am PST.
But, those looking to score an iPhone 6 Plus from Verizon or AT&T might be in for a surprise as AT&T and Verizon are both currently showing a delivery dates of 14-21 days from today. Verizon is a bit farther out with an estimated delivery date going as far back as October 14, 2014.
For those looking for instant gratification, you might want to try your luck by heading to a retail store on release day. Although the lines will be hectic, carriers generally fair a little better compared to the insanity experienced at Apple Stores.
