Samsung has already admitted that the company won"t be selling its Windows RT-based Samsung ATIV RT tablet in the US. Now a new report claims that the company is cutting its losses and won"t be selling the tablet anymore in Germany and other unnamed countries in Europe.
Samsung reps who are attending the CeBIT trade show in Germany this week reportedly told the media outlet Heise.de of their plans to stop selling the Windows RT tablet . The company said it made the decision after a survey of retailers indicated there was little demand for selling the tablet. Some stores might still have a few units of the Samsung ATIV RT on store shelves, but once they are gone, that will likely be it in terms of supplies.
This new report seems to confirm that selling companies are having a hard time selling tablets that run on the ARM-based OS. While a number of PC makers, including Microsoft with the Surface RT, launched Windows RT products last fall, there have been no such new tablets released in 2013. Acer has said it will launch a Windows RT tablet sometime this year but has yet to announce a specific release date.
