Isometric shooter 'Tokyo 42' is now available on PC and Xbox One

Described as a combination of Syndicate (1993) and Grand Theft Auto by the developer, Tokyo 42 is an isometric open world shooter for PC and Xbox One. The game is developed by indie studio SMAC Games, consisting of brother duo Sean Writing and Maciek Strychalski.

In the game"s single-player campaign, the player character is framed for murder in a futuristic depiction of Tokyo, and is thrust into "a world of assassins, deadly corporate intrigue and...tactical cats." Multiplayer modes are also featured, with death match arenas and more for fighting against other players.

Players are able to spin the camera in various angles while performing acrobatic maneuvers, with plenty of gun variety for taking down enemies. Stealth is also an option for players looking to avoid gun battles, as the bullet physics may make the task quite challenging.

The game includes a suitably catchy soundtrack as well, detailed as "synth-wave, boss epics and chill environments." The launch trailer, seen above, makes use of one of the game"s music pieces to great effect, with the full soundtrack available for purchase on the official website for anyone interested.

Tokyo 42 is now available for purchase on PC via Steam and on Xbox One, with a $19.99 price tag. There is a PlayStation 4 version in development, which is slated to release sometime later in mid-July.
