Following a long development period, Squad"s space flight simulator, Kerbal Space Program, officially launched in 2015 for PC. And now, almost three years later, the game"s debut expansion is just about ready for launch.
Announced in March 2017, the Making History expansion brings along a host of new features and content for players to jump into. This includes the new Mission Builder, as evident by its name, the mode lets players create their own custom scenarios with unique victory conditions involving "landings, rescues, malfunctions, explosions, repairs, and much more." Once created, these missions can then be shared online with other players for them to tackle.
Also included in the expansion is the History Pack. This pack is home to a great number of missions straight from the developer, and lets Kerbals take the reins on missions inspired by ventures into space from real life. We will have to see if this involves launching a Tesla Roadster to space as well, considering Elon Musk himself is a fan of the game.
In addition to the main components, the expansion will bring some new parts to assemble ships with as well as new astronaut suits for the Kerbals to wear, both inspired by the Space Race.
The Kerbal Space Program: Making History expansion will be available on March 13 for PC and will cost $14.99. However, note that anyone who purchased the base game before April 2013 will be receiving the expansion free of charge.
