Kinect for Windows was first launched just a few weeks ago but already some companies are beginning to offer third party commercial software applications that support the motion gesture device from Microsoft. One of them is Evoluce who today announced the availability of the WIN&I Media Viewer for download and purchase.
The WIN&I Media Viewer uses the Kinect for Windows device to allow its owners to select, view and browse through their PCs"s image and video galleries with just their hand gestures. The software is powered through Evoluce"s interface, which is supported by the Kinect device. The motion gestures can be detected up to four meters away from the screen.
You can see a demonstration of the WIN&I Media Viewer in action in the above video. The software also supports the use of Kinect in the presentation of PowerPoint slides and PDF files.
The WIN&I Media Viewer is now available to purchase for 299 euros or $360.38 for US users. Evoluce is also offering discounts on the software for students and teachers along with "employees of accredited learning institutions"
Evoluce has previously released their own third party SDK for the Kinect for Xbox 360, before the launch of Kinect for Windows.
