After being released to great acclaim last month for the Xbox 360 and PS3, publisher Rockstar Games has announced that its historical crime action-adventure game LA Noire will be released for PCs later this year. The official Rockstar Games web site has the first details on the PC version which will be ported by developer Rockstar Leeds. The original console game was developed by Team Bondi.
The game, which follows a Los Angeles Police Force officer as he investigates a series of crime in 1940"s LA, has received solid reviews from critics in its console incarnation and was the number one best selling game in the month of May. PC gamers can expect some graphical upgrades for the PC port, according to Rockstar. It will also feature keyboard remapping and gamepad support. The PC version will also offer support for 3D-based PC monitors. There"s no word if the PC version will also have the additional DLC missions that have been released for the console versions since the game was first released in May.
Rockstar Games has had a hit-and-miss history when it comes to PC versions of its games. It has usually offered up PC versions of its console games months or even years after the console titles have come out such as the Grand Theft Auto games, Bully and the Manhunt titles. Sometimes PC versions are never released. PC gamers are still waiting to see if Rockstar will ever release a PC port of 2010"s hit Western themed action game Red Dead Redemption.
