Three days ago, OnePlus released OxygenOS 4.5.7, the latest software for its flagship handset, the 5. The update was an important one, as it introduced electronic image stabilization for 4K video recording - a feature that was missing when the phone launched, but which OnePlus promised to deliver at a later date.
OxygenOS 4.5.7 also included a range of other improvements and fixes, but not everyone has been happy with it. Some owners of the OnePlus 5 took to Reddit and the company"s own forums to complain about issues they encountered when attempting to play games on the device after installing the 4.5.7 update.
Now, OnePlus has confirmed that the update has been pulled:
We are withdrawing 4.5.7 due to a gaming stutter issue reported from some forum users. Therefore, we will push out 4.5.8 instead to resolve this issue ASAP.
While the company says it will release OxygenOS 4.5.8 to fix the problem "ASAP", there"s no clear indication of exactly when that new update will arrive.
Last month, the OnePlus 5 was affected by another issue that caused some devices to crash when users attempted to call 911. OnePlus released the OxygenOS 4.5.6 update within a couple of days to resolve that problem, and later explained what caused it.
