Cliff Bleszinski lead Boss Key Productions" upcoming title, LawBreakers, is currently holding an open beta on the PC, giving all fast-paced shooter fans a chance to try the game out ahead of its release in August. The beta is set to run until July 5, 9am PDT and will also include some new gameplay additions for any returning players who"ve played the game"s previous alpha or beta sessions.
First up is a brand new map titled, Vertigo, situated in the Sierra Nevada mountains, and described as a "high-altitude reconnaissance outpost with near suborbital elevation".
Next up is the new game mode, Uplink, which task players with capturing an uplink from the center of the map and delivering it back to their team"s base for protection against the opposing team.
Weapon Stickers are another new addition arriving as a customization feature to the game. Players will be able to earn a Beta Participant Weapon Sticker by playing at least five rounds of the game during the beta. This sticker will also carry on over to the full game for everyone that collects it.
For the uninitiated, the game is a multiplayer first-person shooter (FPS) with physics-altering elements built into it, which the developer describes as follows:
LawBreakers is a multiplayer FPS in which the laws of physics are shattered, creating intense gravity-defying combat across a futuristic landscape. Players choose whether to fight to uphold the “Law” or go out for blood as a “Breaker,” as they take part in a conflict raging across locations including the boiling oceans off the Santa Monica coastline to a gravity-ravaged Grand Canyon.
Moreover, for any Nvidia graphics card owners, be sure to grab the new Game Ready driver that Nvidia released yesterday, which is optimized especially for the new open beta.
Interested players can find the open beta to download on LawBreakers" official Steam Page. The game is slated to launch on August 8 for PC and PlayStation 4, with a $29.99 price tag for the standard "Core Edition". Meanwhile, the "Deadzo Deluxe Edition" will cost $39.99, which arrives with some additional cosmetic content for in-game use.
