An anonymous tipster claims to have revealed the first glimpse of a supposed new ‘LG Nexus 5’, along with the kind of specs that appear to tick the boxes of a tech-head’s wish list. There’s a good chance that this is all nonsense – but we’ll put it out there and let you be the judge.
The handset – codenamed ‘Megalodon’, after a long-extinct giant shark – was revealed to Android And Me, and is said to feature a spacious 5.2-inch Full HD (1920x1080px) OLED display, along with a 2.1MP camera up front, capable of recording 1080p video at 30fps, and a 16MP shooter around the back, offering 1080p video recording at 60fps, or 4K (yes, 4K) recording at 30fps.
The processor of this thing is said to be similarly superlative – a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU, no less – along with 3GB of RAM, while storage options of up to 64GB are apparently on the cards.
Chuck in an integrated DVB-T television antenna, 3300mAh battery (compared with 2300mAh in the HTC One and 2600mAh in the Samsung Galaxy S4), front stereo speakers and gesture controls, and frankly it does all start to seem a bit fanciful... but the new handset is supposedly due to launch in October.
What do you think? Are we looking at the next big thing in Google’s Nexus line? Or is this just the stuff of dreams, the product of nothing more than an overactive imagination? Let us know your thoughts below!
