It seems like ages ago when the YotaPhone 2 was announced: a smartphone that had two displays, one full color, and the other e-ink. The company was quick to announce plans for a successor, making claims that it would arrive in the first quarter of 2016. As we head into the tail end of 2017, the firm has yet to release the device, but has previously revealed that it will have a starting price of $350 and that it would arrive sometime in autumn.
With four months left in the year, we might be getting our first glimpse of the device. The alleged renders aren"t from an official source, but give us a good look at the front and rear of the Yota 3. As far as design goes, it looks like a step up from what was previously offered and looks pretty slick.
As far as specifications go, the Yota 3 is expected to arrive with:
- 5.5-inch AMOLED 1080p display
- 5.2-inch e-ink 720p display
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor
- 4GB RAM
- 12MP rear camera with 13MP front-facing camera
- USB Type-C
- Android 7.0 Nougat
As mentioned previously, the device should be making an official appearance sometime in the coming months. The real test is whether the company will be able to launch the Yota 3 to a larger market and take it global.
