While there are a lot of people who have been wondering when Apple’s iPhone 5 will be released, there are a number of other smartphone products and tablets that are also supposed to be released this fall. This week IGN received a leaked document from Verizon that seems to show some new products as well as release dates for other devices. Sadly, the list doesn’t show a release date for the next version of Apple’s iPhone which Verizon currently provides along with AT&T.
The document shows a previously unannounced Samsung Galaxy Tab P8 which will have access to Verizon’s LTE based wireless network. This might be the 8.9 inch version of the Galaxy Tab that has been rumored to be in the works for some time. It’s scheduled to come out sometime in November. Another new product shown in the document is a LTE version of RIM’s BlackBerry Curve that’s due out on September 8. RIM has yet to officially announce such a device, even though the company revealed five new Blackberry smartphones earlier this week. The document also mentions some kind of new version of the Blackberry Playbook tablet, but there are no details or release date mentioned for this device.
People who have been waiting for the Motorola Droid Bionic should be happy to learn that the Verizon document shows that the 4G smartphone is due for release on September 8. The Bionic was first announced at CES last January for release last spring, but Motorola delayed its release due to issues with putting in the 4G technology. A successor to the LG Revolution phone, the LG Revolution 2, is due for release on October 20 from Verizon, according to the document.
