Lenovo announces a Chromebook that has a face only a mother could love

We reported a few days ago that there was a rumor that Lenovo would be offering Chromebooks alongside its Windows machines, and now that information has been proven correct as Lenovo has announced a new Chromebook, called the X131e, which is targeted at the education sector.

The X131e will go on sale at the end of February and will only be available to educators out of the gate. The device weighs about 4 lbs and has an 11.6-inch display, VGA and HDMI ports, a webcam, three USB ports, and an unnamed Intel processor.

Lenovo has outfitted the laptop with extra features to help protect it from tumbles off of a desk. These features include a bumper that is visible on the outside of the device and a stronger hinge to help against over aggressive users who may push the screen too far.

Pricing for this beast rings up at $429.00 with a volume purchase agreement.
