Lenovo announces a consumer 'Project Tango' device slated for summer

A little over a year ago, Google unveiled the "Project Tango" tablet that was meant mainly for developers. With the increasing popularity of augmented and virtual reality, Lenovo has announced that they will release a mobile device with Project Tango aimed at the consumer market.

Lenovo has been working on the project for the past year and while not much was revealed, Lenovo did state that it would have a screen under 6.5-inches and be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Lenovo is also encouraging developers to create applications by offering funding and a chance for the developer to have their app featured on Lenovo’s upcoming device.

Lenovo did offer a rough idea of what the device might look like via renders, but cautioned that things could change before production. Lenovo was clear that the device would be priced under $500 USD and arrive in summer of 2016.
