Lenovo announces a pair of Chromebook convertibles at CES

IdeaPad Duet Chromebook

Lenovo made a wide range of CES 2020 announcements today, and along with various Windows 10 PCs, it also introduced some new Chromebooks. The two new PCs are the IdeaPad Duet Chromebook and the IdeaPad Flex 5 Chromebook, a tablet with an attachable keyboard and a convertible laptop, respectively.

What"s perhaps most impressive about the Duet is that it starts at only $279.99. Powered by a MediaTek Helio P60T, it includes a 10.1-inch 1920x1200 400-nit display, a 7,180mAh battery, up to 4GB LPDDR4x RAM, and up to 128GB eMMC storage. It weighs in at just 430g without the keyboard attached, although the keyboard is included at that price point.

IdeaPad Flex 5 Chromebook

The Flex 5 is a bit beefier, including Intel"s 10th-generation "Comet Lake" processors, up to a Core i5-10210U. It"s a convertible laptop with a 13.3-inch 300-nit FHD display, 4GB DDR4 RAM, and up to a 128GB SSD (32GB and 64GB options are eMMC). It weighs in at under three pounds, and it comes in a Platinum Grey color, made out of aluminum. The backlit keyboard is water resistant, so it can handle spills.

The IdeaPad Duet Chromebook is set to arrive in May, starting at $279, while the IdeaPad Flex 5 Chromebook is expected to be available in June, starting at $359.99.
