Along with various new PC announcements today, Lenovo announced Smart Home Essentials, a suite of smart home devices that will work with Apple"s HomeKit, Google Assistant, and Amazon Alexa. You can even use the Lenovo Smart Display as a hub.
First up is the Lenovo Smart Bulb. One of the key advantages to this is that it directly connects to Wi-Fi, unlike competing products like Philips Hue that require an expensive bridge. The bulb is 9W for 800 lumens, and the color temperature can be adjusted between 2700K and 6500K. You should be able to run it for over 15,000 hours before it burns out.
Next is the Smart Plug, which is meant to turn any of your devices into smart devices. It"s small enough to not block adjacent outlets, and uses 0.7W of power while not in use, or 1W while in use.
Finally, the Lenovo Smart Camera has multiple uses. It can be a security camera for your home, a baby monitor, and more. It can scan the area 355 degrees side to side, and 120 degrees up and down. It has a built-in microphone and a speaker, so you can "sing a lullaby to your crying toddler from a remote location to make sure he falls right back to sleep".
All of these work through the Lenovo Link app, where you can set up routines, connect your other smart home devices, and more.
The Smart Bulb and Smart Plug will be available in November for $29.99, while the Smart Camera will arrive early next year for $99.99.
