We hope you can handle all this tablet news, because there"s plenty more where that came from. Lenovo has shown off a range of new devices and they aren"t finished yet. The company has taken the wraps off the IdeaTab Lynx and the IdeaTab Twist, two extremely different devices featuring the same thing under the hood.
Lenovo Lynx
The Lenovo Lynx is a tablet PC that features an optional detachable keyboard dock (much like the Surface), and sports a 1.8GHz Intel Atom dual core processor (Z2760), 2GB DDR2 RAM, 32/64GB eMMC storage, a 11.6" IPS HD display, 5-point capacitive touch and a battery that claims 8 hours of life without the dock and 16 with the dock.
That external keyboard dock has a slimline battery along the back which boosts the devices" life considerably, and Lenovo is quick to point out that that kind of battery life can"t be beat on an Ultrabook. The Lynx also comes with a range of sensors; a G-sensor, proximity sensor, compass, gyro and ambient light sensor.
Lenovo Twist
Next up, the Lenovo Twist is a new take on the ultrabook that is a throwback to the old tablet days. Remember those "tablets" that could transform into a laptop ten years ago? That"s what this is. The Twist features a Intel i7 processor, up to 8 GB of RAM, Intel Integrated Graphics, 320/500 GB - 7200 RPM drive or 128 GB SSD and a 720p front-facing camera.
All of this is packed into just 1.58 KG (3.48 pounds) and Lenovo claims 7 hours of "all day" battery life for the Twist, and is targeting the device at the business user rather than the consumer.
We still don"t have pricing or release dates for the Lynx, but we do have pricing for the Twist. Businesses will be able to pick up the twist for $849 USD whenever Lenovo chooses to release it (we"ll go ahead and guess that it"ll be somewhere around October 26).
