Along with a number of other announcements - including the Explorer Windows Mixed Reality headset, new Windows 10 PCs, and the Home Assistant Pack - Lenovo announced the Moto X4, heralding the return of the Moto X lineup. The new handset is a mid-range, so it"s not quite on par with the Moto Z2 Force, but the company says that it"s "a smartphone crafted to perfection."
Motorola claims that it has a "smarter camera", with features like Landmark Detection, which will automatically ask you if you want to learn more about the object that you"re shooting. It can also scan a business card and add the information to your contacts, or add animations to your selfies.
It"s a dual-lens configuration, with 12MP and 8MP sensors, so naturally, you can add a depth effect to your images, and add things like selective black and white to your pictures. The front camera is 16MP, and it includes an adaptive low light mode.
The Moto X4 also includes Amazon"s Alexa voice assistant, and the phone doesn"t have to be awake for you to use it. And when you ask Alexa to play your music, you can hear it on up to four speakers that the phone can be paired with simultaneously.
As far as specs go, the phone is powered by Qualcomm"s Snapdragon 630 octa-core chipset, along with 3GB of RAM and a 3,000mAh battery. You"ll get 32GB of internal storage, which is expandable by up to 2TB via a microSD card. It has a 5.2-inch 1080p display, and unlike the Z2 Force, has a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Moto X4 will be available in Europe this September starting at €399, and will be available in other markets, such as the US, this fall.
