Lenovo launched its new Legion line of gaming laptops at CES with the Y520 and Y720, but in May, it announced the more powerful Y920. We opened up the Y720 last week, but now it"s time to unleash the larger and more powerful model.
Both PCs include a quad-core seventh-generation Intel Core i7 chip, but while the Legion Y720 includes an HQ-series model, the Y920 is an HK. If you"re familiar with Intel"s naming scheme, a K-series processor is unlocked for overclocking.
It"s also larger, with a 17.3-inch 1080p display that includes Nvidia"s G-Sync technology. The GPU packs a bigger punch as well, with a GeForce GTX 1070, while the Y720 has the GTX 1060.
The one benefit that the Legion Y720 has over the Y920 is that it includes an Xbox Wireless Receiver, so you"ll have to use either a wire or a dongle with the Y920. The new machine is seriously a beast though. Check out our unboxing.
