Lenovo reveals more new Windows 8/8.1 devices, including the ThinkPad Yoga

Earlier this week, Lenovo announced plans to release several new ThinkPad notebook models in September and October. Today, the world"s number one PC maker unveiled even more upcoming Windows 8 and 8.1 products, including the all new ThinkPad Yoga.

Lenovo"s press release has the details on this notebook-tablet hybrid that uses the flipping hinge design made for the Yoga series in a business-oriented ThinkPad package. The 12.5 inch touchscreen laptop has a magnesium alloy body and the hinge has a special feature when the screen is moved into tablet mode. Lenovo says, "The system automatically lifts and locks the keys on the machine’s keyboard in place for a streamlined feel."

The ThinkPad Yoga will have Intel"s fourth generation Core processors inside along with up to 1 TB of storage. It"s due for release in November with a starting price of $949.

The company has also announced plans to release the Yoga 2 Pro, which shares the hinge moving quality of the original Yoga but adds a new 13.3 inch touch screen with an impressive 3200x1800 resolution and a weight of just 3.06 pounds. It also will have Windows 8.1 out of the box, Intel Core processors to choose from and up to 512 GB of SSD storage. It"s due out in October with a starting price of $1,099.99.

For those folks who want something similar to the Yoga but don"t want to spend a lot of money, Lenovo has the new Windows 8 Flex 14 and 15 notebooks. Their screens can flip around 300 degrees (not 360 degrees like the Yoga) which means they can be used in regular notebook or Stand mode but not in tablet mode.

The notebooks will come in 14.1-inch and 15.6-inch versions and have optional display resolutions of either 1366x768 or 1920x1080 and are supposed to have up to nine hours of battery life. The cost for the laptops will start at $629.99 when they go on sale in September.

Finally, Lenovo has a new all-in-one Windows 8 PC, the Flex 20. If it looks familiar, it should, because it"s basically a smaller 19.5-inch version of the company"s previously launched 27-inch IdeaCentre Horizon PC. The Fit 20 can be used as a regular AiO or it can be detached from its power cord for use as a large tablet with up to three hours of battery life. It"s also due out in September with a starting price of $899.99.
