Lenovo stops selling Windows RT Yoga 11 notebook on its website

Lenovo released one of the few PCs that ran Microsoft"s ARM-based Windows RT operating system last fall with the 11 inch Yoga 11 notebook-tablet hybrid. Now it looks like Lenovo is phasing out its lone Windows RT product, as it no longer sells the Yoga 11 on its own website.

Lenovo"s listing for the Yoga 11 on its online store now states, "This product is no longer available for purchase on lenovo.com." It does say that it might still be available on other retail websites, and indeed a quick search on the Internet shows that Office Depot, Tiger Direct and other sites still sell the convertible PC.

However, the fact that Lenovo"s own website no longer sells the Yoga 11 would seem to strongly suggest that the company"s only Windows RT PC is no longer being made and that other retailers are simply selling through the rest of their available inventory.

Microsoft launched the Surface RT alongside the launch of Windows RT in October 2012. Besides the Yoga 11, Windows RT has been used in the Dell XPS 10, the Acer VivoTab RT and the Samsung Ativ Tab, the latter of which was never sold in the US. While there"s been quite a few new PCs released that used Windows 8 since fall 2012, there have been no new Windows RT PCs released since the first wave.

Microsoft cut the prices on its Surface RT tablet earlier this week by $150. So far, there have been no announced plans by Microsoft or any other PC OEMs to launch future Windows RT PCs. However, Qualcomm did show off a Windows RT tablet prototype running on its upcoming quad-core Snapdragon 800 chipset at Microsoft"s BUILD 2013 conference in June.
