Although I have been using a Surface Pro 3 for the last few years for productivity on the go, I have kept an eye on the convertibles category in general and the products that manufacturers have been releasing to market. While I haven"t been looking to purchase a replacement device, I was genuinely interested to see how the ThinkPad L380 Yoga would stack up as an alternative when Lenovo gave me the opportunity to review the device.
Pegged as being "business ready" and starting from $739.20, it"s built for typical productivity tasks in the workplace while incorporating a 13.3-inch Full HD anti-reflective multi-touch display, 360-degree hinge, and ThinkPad Pen Pro support. And, before you ask, yes a pen is included and is stowed in the right edge of the unit. While pen support can be somewhat polarizing in its usefulness in the consumer segment, users in corporate environments, such as members of interstate and international teams, can find it to be quite beneficial during video conferences in lieu of a traditional whiteboard.
In terms of the other major specs, the unit I"ve been sent features an eighth-generation Intel Core i5-8350U with 8GB RAM and a 256GB NVMe SSD. A fingerprint scanner, IR camera with facial recognition, and NFC are all optional extras.
