Lenovo ThinkPad T490s unboxing and first impressions

Refreshed at Mobile World Congress this year, the T-series is Lenovo"s best-selling ThinkPad lineup. It"s meant to be the workhorse of the family, and the T490s is the slimmed down version of its larger sibling.

I reviewed the ThinkPad T480s last year, and this one is 13% thinner. It doesn"t have some of the features that are offered in the larger T490, such as dedicated graphics, or features that have historically been offered in the T-series like swappable batteries.

This is just a clamshell laptop that gets the job done and won"t weigh down your bag. It only weighs 2.81 pounds, assuming that you get the FHD non-touch model, the one that Lenovo sent me. Like this year"s ThinkPad T490, there"s now an option for a QHD Dolby Vision screen. I can tell you from my review of the T490 that it"s quite nice.
